Amparo Bellon-Champ is the Academy's bilingual, dual-cultural vocal coach. Amparo has been teaching all styles of music for the past 6 years and has been a student of Dr. Martin's for the past 10 years. She is a former Dicesa recording artist and has two independently released voice lesson CDs. Amparo has performed in bands and as a solo artist, in music festivals, radio, and television.
Amparo is an expert in her vocal teaching field. Her emphasis is on teaching multiple genres especially Latin Music singing techniques. Her recent instructional voice lesson CD, “Gotta Sing - Aprenda a Cantar Múltiples Géneros” teaches vocalists not only about the differences between multiple Latin styles of singing, but also thoroughly demonstrates how to accomplish each technique. Her teaching CD is available not only in Spanish, but in English, “Gotta Sing - Learn to Sing Multiple Genres.”
Amparo is well-versed in musical theatre, alternative, country, jazz, pop, R&B, rock, bolero, cumbia, meringue, Latin pop, ranchera, salsa, tejano, and tropical music. She teaches her students how to sing multiple genres with an authentic, commercial voice. Her approach to teaching includes helping her students feel and move to the music for better vocal interpretation.
Like most Academy teachers, Amparo is available for Master Voice Lessons. Her master classes are available in English, Spanish, or bilingual. Amparo teaches live lessons in person and via the internet.
