The Academy of the Arts offers a variety of professional resource tools for the novice, intermediate and serious artist. Movement for Singers Workshop
“Singing is Athletic!” Dr. Martin |
This workshop is designed with the physical fitness of singers in mind. The class is taught by Jennisa Asay, dancer and dance instructor from Ft. Collins, who takes the class through a series of excersises designed to help singers strengthen their bodies for the demands of singing. The Academy stresses that singing is athletic, and we attempt to help our students achieve the maximum physical conditioning for the best vocal production. |

Songwriters Groups
The Academy is the host for two dynamic songwriting communities; The Nashville (National) Songwriters Association and the Colorado Christian Songwriters. These groups meet to share and critique each other’s work and to learn more about the songwriting process.
The Colorado Christian Songwriters meets at the Academy every 2nd Saturday of the month from 9 AM to 12 PM. Please contact Karrre Ann Wakefield for more information at 303-465-1824 or 303-469-4154.
The Nashville (National) Songwriters Association International meets every 2nd Monday of the month in the evening from 7:30 to 10:00 PM. Please contact Mary Pat McKenna at 303-988-5699 for more information.
Songwriting Workshops
Sydney Hostetler offers a songwriting workshop for those who are interested in learning more about the process of songwriting and what elements are needed to make a great song. These workshops are very interactive and participants are encouraged to bring their works in progress for review and critique.

Performance Workshops
These hands on workshops are designed to help all singers with their stage performance skills. Each participant is encouraged to bring a piece to perform and will receive instruction and tips on how to use the stage, Mic technique, body language, reaching the audience, and more!

Master Vocal Classes
Master Classes are offered for those who are already receiving private instruction and for those who prefer a more economical group setting. Participants are taught breathing, placement, and resonance technique and each student is encouraged to bring a piece to perform for the group for hands on training.
